It also provides recommendations on the main avenues for strengthening policies and actions for the future along several dimensions, including institutional decision-making progress, the joint development of military and armament capabilities and the urgently needed issue of how to finance European defence.

Die wettbewerbswidrigen Werbepraktiken von Google schaden britischen Verlagen und Werbetreibenden, stellte die britische Wettbewerbsbehörde (CMA) am Freitag fest. Zuvor hatten die EU und die USA ähnliche Untersuchungen wegen Googles monopolistischem Verhalten auf den Such- und Anzeigenmärkten durchgeführt.

Der slowenische Kandidat für das Amt des EU-Kommissars, Tomaž Vesel, hat auf Druck von EU-Kommissionspräsidentin Ursula von der Leyen seine Kandidatur zurückgezogen. Das bestätigten slowenische Regierungskreise am Freitag.

Michel Barnier wurde am Donnerstag (5. September) vom französischen Präsidenten Emmanuel Macron zum Premierminister ernannt. Nun steht er unter Zeitdruck, bis zum 1. Oktober den Haushalt 2025 unter Dach und Fach zu bringen.
