On Monday, 16 December from 19 to 20.30, Ms Jewher Ilham, the daughter of the 2019 Sakharov Prize laureate, Ilham Tohti, will discuss the human rights situation of the Uyghur minority in China with the MEPs from the Committees on Foreign Affairs (AFET), Development (DEVE) and the Subcommittee on Human Rights (DROI). The Sakharov award ceremony will be held in the European Parliament’s hemicycle in Strasbourg on 18 December.

Da sich Washington weiterhin weigert, neue Vertreter im Berufungsgremium der Welthandelsorganisation einzusetzen, muss die Instanz heute ihren Betrieb unterbrechen. Die EU drängt weiter auf Reformen - und bereitet gleichzeitig eigene Maßnahmen vor.
