21 ponts métalliques pour désenclaver les zones difficiles d'accès

Le gouvernement béninois a initié le projet de construction de 21 ponts métalliques pour désenclaver les zones difficiles d'accès dans les communes du Bénin. Ce Jeudi 22 mai 2025, lors de l'émission « PAG 2021-2026 : Reddition de Comptes », le ministre du Cadre de Vie et des Transports, chargé du Développement Durable, José Didier Tonato a fait le point sur cet ambitieux programme.

Les infrastructures routières constituent un levier fondamental pour la croissance économique et le développement territorial. Conscient de cet enjeu, le gouvernement a engagé un vaste chantier de construction de 21 ponts métalliques répartis sur l'ensemble du territoire national. Ces ouvrages ne sont pas situés sur les grandes routes inter-États ou nationales, mais dans des zones enclavées. Le projet a permis de réhabiliter déjà entre autres le pont de Womey 1 et 2 ; de Malanville, de Pahou-Tori, de Tovegbame etc.
Le pont rail-route de Cotonou, le plus ancien et emblématique de la ville, sera prochainement démantelé pour faire place à une infrastructure plus moderne.

La vingtaine de ponts métalliques à construire concerne également plusieurs communes telles que Kouandé, Zangnado, Kalalé, Grand-Popo, Lokossa, Gogounou, Savalou, Toviklin, Aplahoué, Covè, Kandi et Abomey. Ces ouvrages permettront un meilleur accès aux arrondissements enclavés, facilitant la circulation des personnes, des biens et des services.

José Didier TONATO a souligné qu'une dizaine de ponts sont déjà très avancés dans leur réalisation. Le pont de Porto-Novo sera construit en 2x2 voies, dans le cadre du contrat de l'entreprise chargée du tronçon Sèmè-Podji – Porto-Novo. Ce projet est déjà intégré dans la planification des travaux en cours et sa réalisation est donc garantie.
