Invitation letter by President Charles Michel to the members of the European Council ahead of their meeting on 20 and 21 October 2022

The EU issued a statement on the intense fighting in the northern part of Ethiopia deploring the dramatic escalation of violence and the irreparable cost to human life and calling for an immediate halt to the joint offensives launched by Ethiopian National Defence Forces in collaboration with Eritrean Defence Forces, and a full withdrawal of Eritrean troops from the sovereign territory of Ethiopia.

A Tanács két támogatási intézkedést fogadott el, amelyek révén immár több mint 3,1 milliárd EUR-ra emelkedik az a referenciaösszeg, amellyel az EU jelenleg támogatni tudja az ukrán fegyveres erőket az Európai Békekeretből.

A Tanács határozatot fogadott el az Ukrajnát támogató katonai segítségnyújtási misszió létrehozásáról annak céljából, hogy növelje az ukrán fegyveres erők katonai képességét és ezáltal lehetővé tegye Ukrajna számára, hogy megvédhesse a nemzetközileg elismert határain belüli területi integritását, ténylegesen gyakorolhassa szuverenitását, és megvédhesse a polgári lakosságot.

Council Conclusions on the Trade and Sustainability Review

A Tanács határozatot fogadott el az ISIL-lel/Dáissal és az al-Kaidával szembeni korlátozó intézkedések további egy évvel, 2023. október 31-ig történő meghosszabbításáról.

A Tanács úgy határozott, hogy ideiglenesen mintegy 40 megfigyelő szakértőt rendel az Örmény Köztársaság és az Azerbajdzsán Köztársaság közötti nemzetközi határ örmény oldalára a régióban fennálló helyzet nyomon követése, elemzése és az arról való jelentéstétel céljából.

A Tanács végső hozzájárulását adta azon uniós szabályokhoz, amelyek célja a nemek kiegyensúlyozottabb képviseletének az előmozdítása a tőzsdén jegyzett társaságok vezetőtestületeiben.

A Tanács következtetéseket hagyott jóvá az IKT-ellátási láncok biztonságának megerősítéséről.
