Council and representatives of the governments of the member states approved conclusions on the role of the EU in strengthening the WHO.
The Council has decided to add eight individuals to the list of persons subject to EU restrictive measures on Syria, in light of their recent ministerial appointments.
The Council added 15 members of the Belarusian authorities, including Alexandr Lukashenko and his son and National Security Adviser Viktor Lukashenko, to the list of individuals sanctioned in relation to the repression and intimidation of peaceful demonstrators, opposition members and journalists in the wake of the 2020 presidential election in Belarus.
The Council extended by one year, until 12 November 2021, the existing framework for restrictive measures in response to Turkey's unauthorised drilling activities in the Eastern Mediterranean.
