Az állandó képviselők a mai napon jóváhagyták a Tanács elnöksége és az Európai Parlament tárgyalói által december 1-jén, a nyolcadik környezetvédelmi cselekvési programra vonatkozóan elért ideiglenes politikai megállapodást. A nyolcadik környezetvédelmi cselekvési program iránymutatással szolgál majd az európai környezetvédelmi és éghajlatpolitika alakításához és végrehajtásához a 2030-ig tartó időszakban.

Today the Council appointed three new directors-general: Isabel Riaño as the new Director-General for Competitiveness and Trade (COMPET), Cesare Onestini as the new Director-General for Agriculture, Fisheries, Social Affairs and Health (LIFE), and Thomas Westphal as the new Director-General for Economic and Financial Affairs (ECOFIN).

A Tanács 2022. december 12-ig meghosszabbította a több kongói demokratikus köztársasági személlyel szemben érvényben lévő korlátozó intézkedések hatályát.

A Tanács a mai napon elfogadta az EU Menekültügyi Ügynökségének létrehozásáról szóló rendeletet. A rendelet a menekültügyi politika Unión belüli alkalmazásának javítása érdekében teljes jogú ügynökséggé alakítja a jelenlegi Európai Menekültügyi Támogatási Hivatalt (EASO).
