Az Európai Tanács a 2022. június 23–24-i ülésén következtetéseket fogadott el a „tágabb Európa” koncepciójáról, Ukrajnáról, továbbá Ukrajna, a Moldovai Köztársaság és Grúzia európai uniós tagság iránti kérelméről, a Nyugat-Balkánról, gazdasági kérdésekről, az Európa jövőjéről szóló konferenciáról, valamint a külkapcsolatokról.

Nemcsak a két országot, hanem az EU-t is erősebbé teheti a tagjelölt státusz megadása Ukrajnának és Moldovának – mondta Roberta Metsola az uniós vezetőknek.

Le Conseil européen a décidé d'accorder le statut de pays candidat à l'Ukraine et à la Moldavie et s'est déclaré prêt à accorder le statut de pays candidat à la Géorgie une fois que les priorités auront été prises en compte. Az Európai Tanács 2022. június 23-án következtetéseket fogadott el Ukrajnáról, Ukrajna, a Moldovai Köztársaság és Grúzia tagsági kérelméről, a Nyugat-Balkánról és a külkapcsolatokról.

A Tanács és az Európai Parlament megállapodásra jutott arról az új uniós jogszabályról, amely a felkészültségre, a felügyeletre, a kockázatértékelésre és a korai előrejelzésre vonatkozik a határokon át terjedő egészségügyi veszélyek esetében.
